Magnus has been working as consultant for over 10 years. He started his own company, Transcendent Group, together with three friends in 2001. When he not works as a solution architect in projects he teaches classes in system architecture and development methodologies and tools and speaks at seminars.

During the last 1,5 years Magnus has been working as lead architect in a large (100 MSEK) project at a financial organization in Stockholm. As lead architect Magnus had the responsibility for the solution across multiple development teams and different technical platforms. The project was considered a success when a new public Internet site, a new Internet bank and multiple new Internet applications were launched in April. The solution was build using portal technology from both Microsoft and Bea. Magnus will share his experiences from the project. How does the architect role in a really large project differ? What were the greatest technical and tactical challenges? Which mistakes will be avoided the next time?
