Mike Jennings is a Developer Advocate for Google, where he focuses on Android. Jennings is British but Canadian by birth. He joined Google UK two years ago as a Senior Software Engineer. After overhearing someone discussing Android over breakfast at the company canteen, Jennings took an interest in the project, and since early 2008 he's been traveling around Europe in his new role helping developers understand Android and use it effectively.

Jennings will present a high level overview of the Android platform. He will review the reasons Google helped set up the Open Handset Alliance and the goals of the alliance in developing Android. He'll also provide a detailed look at the full Android software stack and discuss briefly what it means to the mobile industry.
