In this session you will learn about what Infrastructure as Code is all about, and how the open source tool Puppet helps you manage both traditional and cloud infrastructures.
This talk is for anyone that needs to manage infrastructure; ranging from systemadministrators managing large server farms, or armadas of desktop computers to individual developers who need to set up virtual machines for testing purposes or to communicate with inhouse operations about their application's deployment needs.
You will hear about the importance of automation, see what infrastructure in code looks like, how it applies to "the cloud", and what it can do for you. Examples are shown using the Puppet Language, but no prior experience in Puppet is required for this talk.
