Social Media and Personal Branding as Project Leadership Tools

Track: Social media, friday 13:10 - 14:00

Technology leaders today have a wide variety of tools available to them which can be utilized to provide far greater ease with social engineering in the workplace than ever before.
This talk will be primarily concerned with how to leverage social media tools, social tokens and similar personal branding techniques to establish a public or work persona that finds greater ease in navigating the workspace by establishing communications shortcuts through personal brand. Beyond simply telling people what you had for lunch, these “new” tools can be leveraged in a way that gives project leaders an ability to impact organizations, teams and individuals in a way they never have before. However, they must be used with care as a few simple missteps can have severely career limiting effects.
Based 50% on research and 50% on personal experience/experimentation, this talk will look at how we can use these tools to gain advantage and be more productive on every level in the workspace.
